Evan and Halle’s proposal had such a fun Chicago feel to it.
They were in town for the weekend around St. Patrick’s Day and planned a date night at Pizzeria Portofino with friends. Evan wanted the proposal to happen along the Chicago Riverwalk, with the bridges, the river, and the city all around them. It had that classic downtown Chicago energy without feeling too formal.
We came up with a simple plan that worked really well. I posed as a tourist and offered to take a photo for them on their phone. Once I got them into place, Evan took Halle by the hands and went for it. It was one of those perfect surprise proposal moments where everything landed just right. Afterward, their friends came over to celebrate, we grabbed some group photos, and then we walked around the Riverwalk for portraits. The river was still green from St. Patrick’s Day weekend too, which made the whole thing feel even more Chicago.
